YOUTH ACADEMY POSITIONS

Coach Coordinator:

The main responsibilities of this role are to ensure that all our coaches have the correct qualifications to coach rugby as defined by the SRU; ensure that all the coach records on SCRUMS are correct plus maintain our own internal records; ensure that we have adequate First Aid cover across all year groups; publicise information about courses, conferences and workshop to all our coaches.; be an active member of the YAMT and answer lots of questions and queries!

 

Youth Academy Catering Coordinator:

Youth Academy Catering Coordinator- you would be responsible for liaison with MacKenzies Catering to organise food prep on a seasonal and weekly basis, and also booking space for teams at Canalside. You would also organise supplies, and keep the academy catering stores stocked as needed. Supplies are dropped to MacKenzies on Fridays for weekend prep. You would coordinate the year group catering leads each week to ensure post-match food is offered and served. You also would need to be allergy and dietary aware, and ensure our guidelines are met. You would work weekly with a great group of parent volunteers and coaches to make sure that visiting teams to Meggetland have the best experience possible. It takes maximum 1-1.5 hours a week, and a monthly shop to Costco/ Asda. You need to be across the weather and fixtures changes to minimise waste, and able to respond quickly to change.

 

U13-U15 Fixture Coordinator:

  • Main contact for arranging all U13–U15 fixtures, including Conference, Cup and friendly matches.

  • Coordinates pitch bookings, kick‑off times and facilities with Scottish Rugby, coaches and opposition clubs.

  • Shares all fixture details, changes and cancellations with coaches, catering and pitch‑lets teams.

  • Works with other coordinators to avoid clashes with senior fixtures and wider Meggetland activity.

  • Supports smooth match‑day operations and attends Academy meetings as required.


U16-U18 Fixture Coordinator:

  • Leads on arranging all U16–U18 fixtures, including Conference, Cup, East Youth Cup and friendlies.

  • Confirms pitch bookings, kick‑off times and logistics with Scottish Rugby, coaches and opposition clubs.

  • Manages referee allocation updates and SCRUMS changes for U18 fixtures.

  • Communicates all fixture details, amendments and cancellations to coaches, catering and pitch‑lets teams.

  • Aligns youth fixtures with senior activity and participates in Academy management meetings.
