Boroughmuir Rugby and Community Sports Club welcomes the news this week, that City of Edinburgh Council has submitted a planning application to support the upgrade of two key Meggetland pitches. As part of early-stage work, under the proposed plans our main pitch would move from grass to synthetic turf, and the existing astro football pitch would be resurfaced. Ian J Thom 1942 – 2025 It is with much sadness that we announce the death of long serving Boroughmuir member Ian Thom. Ian passed away peacefully on Wednesday 31st December after a short illness. Ian was quite a player in his day, winning 7s medals at Gala, before heading off to Glasgow Accies, Edinburgh Southern, then Broughton before aligning with Boroughmuir.
